Feedback on healthcare

You have the right to submit feedback or make a complaint to your healthcare provider if you are dissatisfied with the healthcare you have received.

Your feedback may concern treatment, how you were dealt with, accessibility or communication with the healthcare service.

Contact the clinic or department where you received treatment

In the first instance, please contact the clinic or department where you received treatment. They are the best placed to address and respond to your feedback or complaint. You may remain anonymous if you wish, but please be aware that in that case you will be unable to receive a reply.

Contact via e-services at 1177.se

  • Log in to 1177 with your e-ID
  • Select “Alla övriga tjänster” [All other services]
  • Select “Lämna synpunkter och klagomål hos din vårdgivare” [Submit feedback and complaints to your healthcare provider]

You will receive an automatic confirmation that your case has been received. The department should reply within four weeks, but investigations may sometimes take longer. If you are under 18, we always try to respond in less than four weeks. You have the right to receive a clear and understandable explanation of what has happened.

When you have submitted your feedback via 1177, it is then entered in the incident management system, where it will be dealt with by the department. They assess whether the case has been referred to the correct authority/organisation and what it concerns, and decide whether it is praise, feedback or a complaint.

If you need to get in touch with the healthcare service for any other reason – to request a repeat prescription or change an appointment, for example – you will be referred to other channels, usually the Alltid öppet [Always open] service.

Your involvement

As a patient, it is important that you are able to participate in decisions about your care. This increases the chances of us helping you to achieve a better quality of life.

The aim is to ensure that both you as a patient and your relatives are involved and able to influence the care you receive. There are several different ways of doing this.

A number of our services offer advisory groups for patients and their relatives. There are also many interest groups that can help you to safeguard your rights or provide you with other support. Ask your local clinic or department about the options available to you.

Your opinion matters

A number of randomly selected patients receiving care in Stockholm County are sent a patient survey. We would be grateful if you would help us to improve healthcare services by completing in the survey. If the timing is inconvenient for you when you receive the survey, you can always talk to your clinic about being exempted from the patient survey.

Of course, you do not have to wait for a patient survey to be sent to you; you are welcome to submit feedback on your care at any time.
